This piece refers to pendulums - a symbol of time - and use its color to mark change. The pendulum was a favorite of Paul Klee and his ideas about dynamic drawing. The design of the solid rectangular pendulum in its vertical position resembles an Itten simultaneous contrast color study. In motion with the light playing across the surface our experience of the color is expanded.
